Parkin Heads to Sharjah with Nearly 10,000 Smart Parking Spaces at Aljada

Dubai’s Parkin signs a long-term deal to manage parking across Aljada, marking its first expansion beyond Dubai.

If you’ve ever driven through a busy UAE community at peak hours, you’ll know parking can make or break the experience. Now, Dubai-based Parkin is stepping in to change that — this time in Sharjah.

The company has announced its first expansion outside Dubai, taking over parking operations at Aljada — one of Sharjah’s most talked-about lifestyle destinations. The plan? Roll out nearly 10,000 parking spaces over the next few years, all backed by smart technology.

From Dubai streets to Sharjah’s growing communities

For years, Parkin has been a familiar name across Dubai’s busiest districts. Whether it’s a quick stop in Jumeirah or a longer stay in Downtown, the system has quietly shaped how people move around the city.

Now, that same approach is heading to Sharjah.

According to Mohamed Abdulla Al Ali, expanding beyond Dubai has always been part of the bigger picture. Aljada simply made sense — a community that’s still growing, still evolving, and already drawing steady footfall from across the emirate.

And if you’ve visited Aljada recently, you’ll notice how quickly it’s transforming. New cafés opening, families moving in, offices filling up. With that kind of momentum, parking demand was always going to follow.

Smart Parking Spaces at Aljada

Nearly 10,000 parking spaces

The scale of this rollout is hard to ignore.

Under the agreement with Arada Developments LLC, Parkin will manage every type of parking within Aljada — from street-side spots to multi-level building facilities.

Here’s how it breaks down:

  • Up to 9,900 total parking spaces planned
  • Around 3,500 on-street and off-street spots
  • Close to 6,400 spaces within buildings

But this isn’t happening overnight. The rollout is phased between 2026 and 2030, which actually works in favour of residents. Parking supply will grow alongside the community, not lag behind it.

By mid-2026, early signs of this shift will already be visible. A few hundred building spaces will open first, followed by over a thousand street-level spots shortly after.

A smarter way to park (and pay)

This is where things get interesting.

Parkin isn’t just adding more spaces — it’s rethinking how parking works altogether. Across Aljada, drivers will see a fully integrated system that removes the usual friction.

Think camera-based entry and exit. No tickets, no barriers.
Payments handled automatically through a digital wallet.

It’s the kind of setup many Dubai residents are already used to — quick, seamless, and mostly invisible once you’re in the flow. Bringing that experience to Sharjah feels like a natural next step.

And in a place like Aljada, where weekends can get busy and evenings stretch late into café hopping or family outings, that convenience makes a real difference.

The numbers behind the move

Behind the scenes, this is a significant investment.

Parkin plans to put in between Dh8 million and Dh10 million over the course of the contract. Around Dh3 million is already earmarked for 2026, which shows how quickly the company wants to get things moving.

On the return side, the project is expected to generate between Dh40 million and Dh50 million over 10 years — assuming the full rollout is completed as planned.

It’s a long-term play. Not just about parking, but about becoming part of how a community functions daily.

impact on Aljada residents

For people living or spending time in Aljada, this isn’t just another infrastructure update. It’s something they’ll notice almost immediately.

Less circling looking for a spot.
Less guesswork about payment.
More time actually enjoying where they are.

For Ahmed Alkhoshaibi, the partnership is about supporting the bigger vision. Aljada isn’t just a residential project — it’s designed to be a complete lifestyle hub. And smooth, well-managed parking plays a surprisingly big role in that.

Because at the end of the day, convenience shapes how people experience a place. And in fast-growing communities, those small details start to matter more.

A glimpse into how UAE cities are changing

There’s also a bigger picture here.

Across the UAE, cities are becoming more connected, more tech-driven, and more focused on everyday ease. Parking might not be the first thing that comes to mind when talking about smart cities, but it’s quietly one of the most important pieces.

Projects like this show how infrastructure is catching up with lifestyle expectations.

Parkin’s move into Sharjah feels like a natural progression — one that reflects how quickly communities like Aljada are growing. With nearly 10,000 smart parking spaces on the way, the project is set to make everyday life a little easier for residents, visitors, and businesses alike.

And if current trends are anything to go by, this may just be the beginning of more cross-emirate expansions in the near future.
