mild Earthquake in UAE, residents feel tremors

A few UAE residents experienced the effects of a mild earthquake which struck the country on Thursday, reported the National Centre of Meteorology.

The quake was recorded at 8.03pm local time and measured 1.9 on the Richter scale.

In a post on social media, the NCM said the tremors were “slightly felt by residents and without any effect in the United Arab Emirates.”

The 1.9-magnitude earthquake was felt in Dibba Al Fujairah at 8 o’clock, according to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM). Residents “slightly felt” it, but the NCM added that it had no impact on the nation.

The authorities urged members of the public to take information from relevant sources and not to follow on rumors.
