Dubai is never behind when it comes to innovation and invention. And, we’ve got a whole lot of places that prove the same. From the Museum of Future to the Burj Khalifa, Palm Tower and Ain Dubai, the list is simply endless. Now, the city has added yet another place to this list. ‘Aya’ is Dubai’s most recent futuristic attraction that has people queuing up. So, what’s inside this new immersive experience in the city? Read on and find out for yourself!
What’s It?
Spread across 3,700 square metres at Wafi City mall, Aya is an immersive light and sound park. True to its tagline- “A trip to a beautiful universe” – Aya promises to take you on a surreal journey. The park utilises lights, sounds, as well as mirrors to create a one-of-a-kind experience for visitors. The park has 12 zones, each with a unique feature that is sure to impress visitors.
Each room or zone is designed to create a highly sensory experience. While one room might be filled with jelly-like creatures crawling around, another room might require visitors to lay down on their back and watch a light show projected on the ceiling, thereby creating an illusion of floating.
Some of the zones include The Falls- which features a reverse waterfall, The Pool- or a circular projection on the floor imitating a deep vortex and Flora- featuring a sentient garden with illuminated grass.
Travelers will play, drift, and dream as they command observatories full of stars, roam gardens blooming light, and traverse rivers that bridge the infinite. While the true nature of these chambers may never be known, spectacles will blossom, mysteries unfold, and dazzling powers unlock for visitors that stop to smell the roses. Besides, guests can also enjoy a choreography of lights and sounds that could go on for up to seven minutes. The staff, aptly dressed in cream-coloured robes, guide visitors to move from one room to another. Visitors can also dance with avatars and unlock new characters to interact with as part of the totally immersive experience, in a sanctuary that does not exist in our own known universe.
The experience ends at Harmonia, a three-minute-long finale where a robotic light show in a mirrored infinity zone stretches far into the distance.
AYA was invented and built by Hyperspace, with further entertainment parks planned for the emirate, and other major world cities soon.
