The film industry witnessed a heart-wrenching moment as Govinda, visibly shaken, attended the funeral of his close associate, Shashi Prabhu. The actor, known for his ever-smiling persona, couldn’t hold back his tears as he paid his last respects to a man who had been more than just a professional aide, he was family.
Shashi Prabhu, who had been battling cardiac issues, reportedly passed away at his residence in Borivali West, Mumbai, at around 4 p.m. The industry veteran had undergone a bypass surgery recently but sadly couldn’t recover.
Beyond Work: A Bond Like No Other
Govinda’s current secretary, Shashi Sinha, opened up about the actor’s deep-rooted connection with Prabhu. In an emotional statement to ETimes, he revealed, “He was Govinda’s childhood friend. From the very beginning, they shared a close bond, and for many years, he also worked for Govinda. I got to know him later. But during Govinda’s early struggles, he was like a brother to him. Govinda loved him like a brother, and their relationship remains the same to this day.”
Not just limited to Bollywood, Prabhu also played a crucial role in Govinda’s foray into politics. Though he wasn’t the mastermind behind the actor’s political career, his contribution to managing Govinda’s journey in the field was significant.
Govinda’s Personal Turmoil: Marriage Troubles?
While Govinda was grappling with the grief of losing a dear friend, his personal life was also making headlines. Reports surfaced claiming that his wife, Sunita Ahuja, had allegedly sent him a divorce notice six months ago. However, his legal team has clarified that the couple has now patched things up, putting an end to the speculation for now.
