This futuristic institute, once built, will be the place where scientists and researchers could work towards and establish goals to protect Dubai’s Marine and Coastal regions. Currently, the project is in the research and development stage and will have the world’s most diverse artificial reef spanning approximately 200 square kilometres across the Dubai coastline. Furthermore, as per the reports, it will also be home to over 1 billion corals and 100 million mangrove trees.

Besides this, keeping responsible and sustainable tourism in mind, it will also have renewable energy powered, floating eco resorts and lodges, unique eco activities like underwater forest bathing, edutainment classes at The Marine Institute, other residential properties, retail outlets, educational facilities and research hubs and more. The best thing is the project will also target creating over 30,000 green jobs and could also have wave farms to produce clean energy amongst other things.

Being developed by URB, at present, the project is in the research phase and depending on the funding and other things, the first phase could be realised by 2025 to 2030.

In other news, if you love cycling, then get ready to cycle down ‘The Loop’- a year-round climate-controlled building intended to encourage cycling and walking as Dubai residents’ main modes of transportation.

‘The Loop’ Will Become The Smartest Cycling Highway In The World

The Loop, which will house a zero-emissions transportation system, would be run entirely on renewable energy thanks to kinetic flooring. It would be a multipurpose building with recreational activities for both locals and guests.

Its snaking structure, which is intended to serve as a centre for wellness tourism, might include a number of wellness hotels placed along it. With a range of hotels at different price points, developers hope to accommodate all kinds of travellers. Additionally, there would be athletic fields and exercise centres.

The Loop will be housed in a curved glass building, will boast lush greenery and feature a number of small parks, playgrounds, and allotments. Produce may be grown inside the building using vertical farms, increasing the amount of locally produced food available in the city.
