Dubai Police Introduce Virtual Officer for Enhanced Public Service

Bringing Advanced AI Technology to Enhance Security and Public Support

The Dubai Police have unveiled a groundbreaking addition to their force: a virtual police officer named First Lieutenant Amna. This innovative move was showcased at the Gitex Global Technology Exhibition held at the Dubai World Trade Center.

Enhancing Public Safety with Dubai Police

First Lieutenant Amna, a virtual officer powered by advanced artificial intelligence technology, aims to enhance the safety and security of Dubai residents while providing essential information and assistance to the public.

Accessible AI Assistance

The virtual officer, currently in a prototype stage, is accessible through a screen interface at the Dubai Police’s Digital Cities section located inside the Sheikh Saeed Hall. With a microphone and touchpad at the ready, visitors can engage Amna with questions. Though her responses are limited to a predefined set of questions, her answers are accurate and up-to-date.

Expanding Horizons: Future Virtual Assistants

According to a police spokesperson, this project is in its initial phase, with plans to introduce more virtual assistants specialized in various areas. For instance, a character named Khalfan will handle specific topics.

Accessible Across Languages

One of the key advantages of virtual assistants like Amna is their ability to communicate in 109 languages, making them accessible to a diverse population. These virtual officers will be stationed at various public places, including malls, to serve as the primary point of contact for the general public. This initiative aims to bridge communication gaps and provide a more approachable means of interacting with the police, especially for those who may be hesitant to approach a human officer.

Dubai Police’s Technological Advancements

Dubai Police’s efforts in integrating cutting-edge technology with their law enforcement services have been met with enthusiasm and curiosity from the public.

The Future of Public Safety in Dubai

The future holds promise for even more virtual officers like Amna, offering the citizens of Dubai a new and innovative way to connect with law enforcement.
