Dubai Based Radio Station Celebrates Indian Republic Day In A Truly Unique Way

The Indian community in Dubai is out and about celebrating the country’s 74th Republic Day – as part of the celebration and bringing the community together, the UAE’s most iconic Bollywood music station City 1016 celebrated this Republic Day in a truly unique way. 

 

The heart of the Indian community in Dubai at predominantly based around the Meena Bazaar area – this is where most of the second and third generation Indians living in the UAE grew up and called their home. 

Meena Bazaar is not only home to some of the oldest businesses in town, but also supports a thriving community of Indians – City 1016 took this opportunity to place two of their RJs – Parikshit and Karishma from their ‘Subah In The City’ segment to host the show from them middle of Meena Bazzar this morning. 

 

Glimpses Of The On-Site Live Broadcast

Residents of the Meena Bazaar area embraced this activity and showed up with warm hearts and their own unique way of welcoming the RJs to the neighborhood – while some came with prasad, some residents brought breakfast for the team and some brought in tea – true to the Indian sprit of  Atithi Devo Bhava
