There are solutions to reduce wastage without affecting the experience quotient. Public figures like them enjoy a lot of influence and their initiatives go a long way in defining the culture and encourage social responsibility. Roughly 931 million tons of food produced for human consumption is wasted each year and at Foodlink we strongly believe in curbing this.”
Zero Waste and Zero Plastic Celebration
Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul’s wedding was a celebration of sustainability, with zero waste and zero plastic. Instead of plastic water bottles, guests sipped from water goblets and glass bottles, dined on ceramic/porcelain dishes, and used metal cutlery. The all-day bar featured premium glassware and eco-friendly offerings such as mitti ke sikkore, bamboo cones, and donas for chaats, desserts, and starters.
Gram-Worthy Decor
The stunning farmhouse nestled amidst picturesque scenery was the ideal location for Athiya and KL Rahul’s intimate and sophisticated wedding. Rani Pink Gifts, the company that decorated the venue, said that their artistic vision perfectly matched that of the bride’s. The focus of the decorations was to adorn the farmhouse with an abundance of natural flowers, including yellow marigolds for the haldi ceremony and fragrant white jasmine flowers for the wedding day.
The mehendi ceremony was a burst of color with blooming bougainvillaeas as the centerpiece. Founder Anika Dhawan of Rani Pink revealed that the palm tree motifs on the curtains and cushions were even hand-painted by Athiya and Dhawan herself. The hot pink, coral, and white flowers added a lively touch to every corner.
The wedding day design was a stunning display of white flowers and old trees, draped in strings of jasmine and beds of mogra, with a touch of soft mint in the hand-dyed, old-world brocades. Pastel decor always evokes a feeling of love and Athiya and Rahul’s pheras were no exception. The mandap was adorned in muted pastel tones, complementing the bride and groom’s outfits and providing a dreamy setting for their union. The breathtaking Khandala hills served as the perfect backdrop for their wedding photos.
The Perfect Outfits of The Bride
On her big day, Athiya was a vision in a stunning blush pink Chikankari lehenga by designer Anamika Khanna. The lehenga was adorned with floral embellishments and intricate embroidery and was paired with a sweetheart neckline blouse and a semi-sheer dupatta. The bride’s accessories included a statement stone-studded choker, matching dangling earrings, a maang tikka, and delicate kaleere.
Celebrity stylist Ami Patel, who styled all of Athiya’s wedding looks, also revealed her after-party outfit – a beautiful ivory Chikankari suit. The custom ensemble consisted of a blazer, corset top, and matching pants, all adorned with taar jaal, baby pearls, and sequins. The blazer had full-length sleeves, padded shoulders, notch lapel collars, an open front, and patch pockets, while the pants featured a high-rise waistline, flared silhouette, and side pockets.
Athiya’s other wedding outfits included a Kanchivaram saree for her muhurtham ceremony and a hand-embroidered Ritu Kumar anarkali for her haldi function. The actress looked stunning in all her ensembles and proved that she is truly a fashion icon.
Over all the whole wedding was surreal and more than beautiful!
