Amitabh Bachchan, the Shahenshah of Bollywood, has been an integral part of the Indian film industry for several decades, and to this day, continues to mesmerize his fans with his unparalleled talent. Not only is he an icon on the silver screen, but he also remains one of the most prolific and engaged celebrities on social media, particularly Twitter. Through this platform, he maintains a strong bond with his adoring fans by offering glimpses into his daily routine. In this way, Amitabh Bachchan ensures that his legion of fans is always in the loop and feels connected to their beloved superstar.
Recently, Twitter’s coveted blue tick has been the talk of the town, sparking intense conversations among netizens, particularly in the Bollywood community. To everyone’s surprise, the blue tick vanished from numerous prominent handles, including those of A-listers like Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Salman Khan.
As it turns out, this was due to the introduction of Twitter Blue, a new subscription service that requires users to pay for the privilege of having a verified blue tick on their profiles. This development has caused quite a stir, with many wondering if the blue tick is worth the price and what the implications of this change could be for social media influencers and celebrities alike.
Apparently, Amitabh Bachchan paid the subscription to acquire the verified badge on Twitter. However, much to his chagrin, several other celebrities were able to get their blue tick back without paying a dime. So, what gives? Well, the legendary Bollywood star shed some light on this amusing situation with his trademark wit and sarcasm in a series of hilarious and savage Twitter posts.
On Friday, Amitabh made a request for the restoration of the Twitter blue tick that too in an eastern Uttar Pradesh – Bhojpuri accent. “T 4623 – Hey Twitter brother! Are you listening? Now I even paid…so put back the blue lotus (tick) in front of my name, so that people know that it is Amitabh Bachchan only. I have already requested with folded hands, now should I fall at your feet?”

After Big B’s request was granted, he expressed his gratitude to Twitter CEO Elon Musk. On an early Saturday morning, Amitabh took to Twitter and exclaimed, “T 4624 – Hey Musk brother! I thank you very much! I got the blue tick in front of my name! Now, I am so happy that I want to sing a song for you! Want to listen? Here it is: Tu Cheez Badi Hai Musk Musk…Tu Cheeze Badi Hai Musk”.

But, it isn’t over yet! While Twitter has reinstated blue tick verification for accounts with over one million followers, Amitabh Bachchan, who boasts an impressive 48.4 million followers, had already paid for the subscription. Speaking in Bhojpuri, the Bollywood legend explained that those with one million followers or more could now obtain a verified blue tick. However, he couldn’t help but poke fun at his own predicament, stating that he had already paid for the badge, adding the humorous quip ‘Khel Khatam, Paisa Hazam (Game Over, Money Disappeared)’.
