And now, the iconic institute is all set to expand and enter the global market. Yep, you read that right! Abu Dhabi will be the first home to IIT’s first campus outside India. Read on to know more!

IIT will begin courses in Abu Dhabi in 2024, confirms Sunjay Sudhir, Indian ambassador to the UAE. Currently, India has 23 IIT colleges, and it’s difficult to clear the tests and become an IITian. Offering a rigorous curriculum in engineering and technology, IIT in UAE will be an independent college offering fewer academic programmes and eventually will offer all programmes like undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD courses.

In terms of building IIT in UAE, IIT Delhi will be mentoring IIT Abu Dhabi. In collaboration with a group of experts from IIT Delhi, the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (Adek) will identify the location, campuses, start date, qualification criteria and other things.

IIT Abu Dhabi will inspire lakhs of Indian, Emirati and other nationalities to become world leaders and write their success stories. This landmark project will also be a tribute to the people of India and the UAE who have worked relentlessly to build a strong relationship between both countries. Furthermore, this project will also create job opportunities in India and the UAE.
