SeaWorld Abu Dhabi Opens On Yas Island; Abu Dhabi’s Crown Prince Takes A Tour

Abu Dhabi’s most-awaited attraction- SeaWorld is almost set to open doors to the public. H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, inaugurated SeaWorld, Abu Dhabi – the newest theme park on Yas Island on Saturday, 20 May.

H.H. Sheikh Khaled toured the attraction and was briefed on its facilities, which span 183,000 sqm, offering entertainment and education themed around marine life to visitors, and further strengthening Abu Dhabi’s position as a tourism hub. Sheikh Khaled also visited the Yas SeaWorld Research and Rescue – the first integrated research, rescue, rehabilitation, return and education center in the MENA region.

Sheikh Khaled reviewed the centre’s programmes, which are working to conserve the Arabian Gulf’s marine wildlife, habitats and ecosystems while educating and inspiring a new generation of marine enthusiasts.

He was accompanied by Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi and Chairman of Miral; and Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi, Group CEO of Miral.

As well as offering entertainment, education, and family-friendly experiences, including up-close animal encounters and animal presentations, SeaWorld Abu Dhabi is home to rides and attractions, as well as dining and shopping destinations.

Commenting on the occasion, Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Miral, said: “Today marks a great milestone for Abu Dhabi as we open SeaWorld Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, a landmark attraction that is unparalleled in the region and the world on every level. SeaWorld Abu Dhabi represents the next generation of theme parks, joining the world-class experiences on Yas Island, further positioning it as a top global destination, contributing to the growth of Abu Dhabi’s tourism vision.”

He further added that the Park will also play a key role in promoting environmental awareness and protecting marine life in Abu Dhabi, the UAE and the wider region, undoubtedly inspiring guests to care for and protect our precious marine life for years to come.

What can you expect at seaWorld abu dhabi?

The 183,000 square meter attraction is being constructed over five floors and will feature habitats, rides, interactive exhibits, and immersive guest experiences—the full scope of which has not yet been made public.

With more than 58 million liters of water and 150 species—including sharks, manta rays, sea turtles, reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates—it will be home to a wide range of aquatic creatures.

In addition, hundreds of bird species, including puffins and penguins, will live in the park. Expert zoologists, veterinarians, nutritionists, and other animal specialists will be around to take care of the animals.

One Ocean, the park’s central zone, connects six marine environments, each of which tells a tale meant to highlight the interconnectedness of life on Earth and beneath the seas. This area will also boast be a 360-degree media experience.

The building will make use of rooftop solar photovoltaic systems with a combined capacity of 8.2 megawatts, according to a July announcement from Abu Dhabi’s Masdar clean energy company.

what are the ticket prices?

SeaWorld Abu Dhabi’s tickets are now on sale. The starting price for adults is AED375, and the price for children below 1.1m in height is AED290. You can purchase the tickets on their website. The general admission ticket costs AED370 and includes unlimited all-day access to SeaWorld, where you can view more than 100,000 animals and enjoy over 75 experiences and rides. Besides, ticket holders also get free parking.

Besides this, visitors can also avail a 4-park ticket, valid for 14 days after your first park visit. For AED675 per person, you get access to SeaWorld, Warner Bros. World, Yas Waterworld, and Ferrari World. And if you love theme parks and keep visiting them, SeaWorld has the perfect annual offers. The pre-opening offer has two passes- Silver Yas Annual Pass and Gold Yas Annual Pass.

The Silver Yas Annual Pass costs AED1095 and includes year-round access to Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Yas Waterworld, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, and SeaWorld Abu Dhabi (from May 23) with blockout dates. The pass includes an exclusive SeaWorld preview, 15 per cent off on dining and shopping and a 15 per cent discount on friends and family tickets. The Gold Yas Annual Pass costs AED1295 and includes unlimited year-round access to Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Yas Waterworld, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, and SeaWorld Abu Dhabi (From 23 May). It also includes an exclusive SeaWorld preview, 25 per cent off on dining and shopping and a 25 per cent discount on friends and family tickets and other incredible Yas Island Benefits.

SeaWorld Abu Dhabi opens to the public on 23 May.
