Residents across the UAE are in for a celestial treat as the first supermoon of the year, known as the Hunter Supermoon, will illuminate the night sky on Thursday, October 9, 2025. The moon will appear nearly 14 percent larger and 30 percent brighter than usual as it reaches its closest point to Earth, known as perigee.

Guided Viewing Event by Dubai Astronomy Group
For those who prefer a guided experience, the Dubai Astronomy Group will host a special public viewing session at Al Awir Second Park from 7 pm to 9 pm.
The session includes a brief talk on the science behind the supermoon, a Q&A segment, and telescope-assisted observations. Entry is priced at AED 120 for adults and AED 100 for children, and advance booking is advised due to limited capacity.
Tips to Photograph the Hunter Supermoon
Capturing the brilliance of the supermoon requires a few practical techniques:

- Start with ISO 100: Adjust gradually to prevent overexposure.
