In a bid to promote responsible driving and honour individuals committed to traffic safety, Dubai Police recognised 66 exceptional drivers in the seventh edition of the ‘Safe Driving Stars’ initiative. The ceremony, held at the Dubai Police Officers’ Club, celebrated those who have consistently demonstrated safe driving habits and maintained a clean record with zero accidents or violations.
This initiative—organised by the General Department of Transport and Rescue—continues to serve as a beacon for promoting traffic safety and cultivating a culture of excellence among the Force.
Recognising Dedication Behind the Wheel
Major General Harib bin Mohammed Al Shamsi, Acting Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, led the awards ceremony alongside key dignitaries, including Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, Assistant Commandant for Operations Affairs, and Major General Rashid Al Falasi, Director of the General Department of Transport and Rescue.
The event was held in collaboration with corporate sponsors such as Majid Al Futtaim, Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company, and Genesis.
The 66 honoured drivers, drawn from various sectors within Dubai Police, were applauded for their long-standing adherence to traffic laws and safe driving practices.
Departmental Achievements: Gold, Silver and Bronze Shields
In addition to individual awards, Dubai Police departments earned recognition for their collective contributions to road safety.
- Gold Shield: General Department of Traffic
- Silver Shield: General Department of Transport and Rescue
- Bronze Shield: General Department of Organisation Protective Security and Emergency
At the police station level, awards were split into two groups:
Group A Winners:
- Gold: Al Raffa Police Station
- Silver: Al Rashidiya Police Station
- Bronze: Bur Dubai Police Station
Group B Winners:
- Gold: Lahbab Police Station
- Silver: Al Faqa’a Police Station
- Bronze: Ports Police Station
Individual Excellence in Fleet Safety
Under the theme ‘Our Fleet… Our Responsibility’, three officers were recognised for exemplary vehicle management:
- Gold: Sergeant Abdullah Sadiqi
- Silver: Lieutenant Muneer Al Blooshi
- Bronze: First Sergeant Mohsen Al Arif
Additionally, Al Khawaneej Police Station, Bur Dubai Police Station, and Al Rashidiya Police Station received top accolades in the same category at a station level.
Highlighting Innovation: Self-Driving Vehicle Initiative
Dubai Police also spotlighted the top users of their innovative “I-Serve” service, which features autonomous patrol vehicles. Honourees included:
- First Corporal Habib Sadiq
- Sergeant Salmeen Ziyad
- Civilian staff member Dad Mohammed
This initiative supports the city’s wider vision of integrating smart technologies into public services, aligning with Dubai’s Smart City ambitions.

Major General Al Shamsi closed the ceremony by acknowledging key sponsors and commending all honourees for their commitment to safer roads. He noted that the ‘Safe Driving Stars’ initiative is part of a broader strategy to reduce traffic incidents and foster a professional, responsible driving culture within the Dubai Police Force.
“By celebrating excellence in road safety, we aim to motivate all officers to uphold high standards of responsibility and care on the road,” he said.
