Picture this: You’re on a boat sailing along the Palm Jumeirah and you suddenly crave juicy burgers and a tall glass of chilled milkshake. Well, this is very possible, isn’t it? But, the good bit is that you’ll not have to disembark from your boat and head to Marina to fuel up! The world’s first floating restaurant Double Like now caters to customers at sea. That’s Dubai for you! Read on to know more.
Double Like- Dubai’s favourite burger and lobster joint has now taken to the waters, with a cool floating kitchen. Foodies can now get their burger and lobster fix right on the Arabian waters and even enjoy it while watching a mesmerizing sunset.
Jumeirah’s Double Like restaurant is allowing sea-bound patrons access to their food through the marine e-commerce app Aqua Pods, following the lead of retailer Carrefour. Simply install the “Aqua Pod” app on your phone, place your order from your boat, and meals will be delivered to you.
Although there are no dining areas, guests in small boats can stop by the kitchen to pick up their orders—a service Double Like refers to as its “float-through”—instead. Alternatively, customers can place their orders over the phone or using a smartphone application, and a jet ski will deliver their food.
In 2020, Double Like established its first location in Umm Suqeim, where it quickly gained a reputation for its high-end burgers, including the company’s distinctive lobster roll and rib burger. On the menu, foodies can expect to tuck in burgers, lobsters, milkshakes and much more.
The Aquatic Architects Design Studio in the UAE, which developed the idea of Aqua Pods, or multipurpose floating modules that may be utilized as commercial spaces, is also the brain behind the offshore kitchen.
It’s time to plan a yacht party in style!
