Starting Thursday, 11 May, travellers will no longer need to provide proof of vaccination to enter the US. The US will lift the requirement, marking the end of the coronavirus public health emergency in the country. The new rule will also apply to non-US travellers entering via land ports of entry and ferries- starting 12 May.
In a statement on Monday the White House said “we are now in a different phase of our response when these measures are no longer necessary”. The new development will make it easier for tourists to visit the country.

USA is not the only to have eased travel restrictions post the pandemic. Recently, China eased travel rules with tourists no longer needing a negative PCR test to enter the country.
UAE Residents Can Now Apply For Japan Visas Online
In other news, UAE residents can now apply for a Japanese visit visa online. As a UAE resident, you can apply for a short-term tourist visa that allows stays of up to 90 days online. Visit the Ministry Of Foreign Affairs Of Japan’s Evisa website, fill out the form and submit it; once successful, you will get a digital confirmation of the visa. Post that, once you enter Japan for immigration, you have to access Japan’s eVisa website on arrival and show your approved documents to immigration authorities. It means that no screenshots or printouts of the visa are required, and the visa needs to be shown on their official website only. Here’s everything you need to know.
