Sharjah Is Hosting World’s Largest Photography Festival

Something is always happening in the UAE. Be it the food festival in Dubai- Taste of Dubai or Sharjah Light Festival, the country knows how to entertain its people. And now, the latest edition is World’s Largest Photography Festival in Sharjah. Known as the cultural capital of the UAE, Sharjah is hosting the 7th edition of the Xposure International Photography Festival. Read on to know all the deets.

Taking place at the Expo Centre in Sharjah, Xposure International Photography Festival features 68 breathtaking solo and group exhibitions comprising 1,794 photos. With over 100 artists partaking from around the world, this festival is organised by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB).

Tariq Saeed Allay, Director General, SGMB, was present at the opening of the event alongside Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council (SMC). Tariq Saeed Allay spoke about how photography helps shatter several stereotypes and connects people. He also added that since its inception, this festival is giving all of us a reminder that beauty exists amid all the chaos.

Acclaimed photographers like Dan Winters, Karen Zusman and James Balog are also a part of the event. And if you are an art and photography enthusiast, you must visit the ongoing festival until February 15th. To visit the event, register on Xposure.ae’s website. Entry is free for all.

Spanning over 18,000 sqm, you can participate in dozens of photography workshops, from beginner to Pro, live stage demonstrations, photography talks, film screenings, panel discussions, portfolio reviews, and more. Xposure is a one-of-its-kind festival that caters to everyone, irrespective of age and gender. The opening hours are from 10 AM to 10 PM. So if you love art, photography and filmmaking, this place is for you.
