Dates for Abu Dhabi’s Mother of the Nation Festival announced

A Celebration of Culture and Community

Abu Dhabi is gearing up for one of its most anticipated annual events, the Mother of the Nation (MOTN) Festival. This year, the festival promises to be bigger and better, offering a plethora of activities and attractions that celebrate the spirit of community and culture. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Abu Dhabi Corniche, the festival will run from December 8 to 31, 2024.

Honoring Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak

The organizers named the Mother of the Nation Festival in honor of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the wife of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the UAE. Sheikha Fatima tirelessly promotes women’s empowerment and rights. The festival embodies her inspirational values and aims to create an inclusive environment that welcomes families and individuals from all walks of life.

Diverse Activity Zones

The festival is divided into several zones, each offering unique experiences:

The Thrill Zone: This area is perfect for adrenaline junkies. It features some of the world’s most exciting amusement rides, including The Extreme, which takes riders 20 meters into the sky before a thrilling descent. Other attractions include the Fairground Wave Swinger, the Horror Escape Room, and the MOTN Skate by RollDXB.

The Amuse Zone: Designed for families, this zone offers a variety of children’s activities and rides. Highlights include Spacetoon Land with characters like Barbie and Sonic, the Upside Down Museum from the Netherlands, and numerous carnival rides and play parks.

The Indulge Zone: Food lovers will find this zone irresistible. It features a wide range of culinary delights from both international and local vendors. Notable mentions include London’s Coq Fighter, Covent Garden’s Milk Train, and UAE favorites like Lento and Ugly Noodle.

The Entertainment Zone: This zone is the heart of the festival’s live entertainment. It will host performances by international superstars and regional acts. The Black Eyed Peas are set to headline on December 13, promising a night of unforgettable music and entertainment.

A Platform for Local Talent

In addition to international acts, the MOTN Festival also provides a platform for local artists and performers. This initiative aims to showcase the rich cultural heritage of the UAE and support emerging talent. Visitors can expect to see a variety of performances, from traditional Emirati music and dance to contemporary art installations.

Sustainability and Community Engagement

The festival is not just about entertainment; it also focuses on sustainability and community engagement. Various workshops and interactive sessions will be held to educate visitors about environmental conservation and sustainable living practices. The festival organizers have also partnered with local NGOs to support community initiatives and charitable causes.

Safety and Accessibility

Ensuring the safety and comfort of all visitors is a top priority for the festival organizers. Comprehensive safety measures will be in place, including crowd management protocols and health and safety guidelines. The festival is also committed to being accessible to everyone, with facilities and services designed to accommodate visitors with disabilities.

Tickets for the MOTN Festival are available on the official website and through authorized ticketing partners. Various ticket packages are offered, including family passes and VIP experiences. Early bird discounts are available for those who book in advance.

The Mother of the Nation Festival is more than just an event; it is a celebration of culture, community, and the enduring legacy of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak.
