And now, to add more to its glory, Hatta- nestled in the Hajar Mountains and located around 135 km from Dubai, has made it to the list of the World’s 50 Most Beautiful Towns. Hatta Bagged The 18th Spot On The World’s 50 List
Sheikh Hamdan shared this news on Twitter, and in a tweet, he said, “One of the globe’s leading travel magazines Conde Nast Traveler, has included Hatta in its list of the ’50 Most Beautiful Small Towns in the World’. The recognition is a testament to @HHShkMohd’s vision for development, which is not only focused on turning Dubai into one of the world’s greatest cities but also developing the emirate’s countryside and transforming its towns into beautiful destinations. I thank the Dubai Government teams that have worked diligently towards achieving @HHShkMohd’s vision to ensure the highest standards of excellence in Dubai.”
Hatta made it to the top 20 list and bagged the 18th spot. Spain’s Albarracín bags first spot, Thailand’s Ban Rak Thai came second on the list, followed by Ecuador’s Baños, Maine’s Bar Harbor and Japan’s Biei. Several Asian and European countries made it to the list.

When we talk about Hatta, the popular weekend getaway destination is closed for summer, and new exciting developments are taking place in the area that you must know about. Hatta development will take place in two parts- phase 1 and Phase 2; both these phases have been reviewed by HH Sheikh Mohammed Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Phase 1 will have 14 projects and initiatives, whereas Phase 2 will feature 22 projects and initiatives. From getting Crystal Lagoon Lake to Cable Car and Waterfall, there are a lot of things that you can expect.
Hatta To Also Have A Cable Car, Mountain Tram & Cycle Tracks
In terms of transport and mobility, Hatta will also feature a 5.4 km cable car that will transport visitors from Hatta Dam to the top of Umm Al Nusour. Besides cable cars, Hatta will also get a mountain tram that will increase access to Hatta Dam. And if you thought that’s it, you must know that trails will be installed to allow hikers to take in the natural beauty Hatta has to offer.
In addition, Hatta will soon be home to a bicycle track, mountain biking trails, a Hatta service centre, a new residential district, Wadi Lim Lake restoration and more. Besides this, temporary eateries, facilities, walkways, and rest areas will be set up in order to increase investment opportunities and advance tourism in the region.
The Village started welcoming visitors in 2001, and since then, Hatta has become the hub for adventure and activities and is the perfect weekend getaway destination for Dubai residents.
