major bridge in dubai to be closed until further notice; here are the alternative routes

Earlier, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced a temporary closure of the floating bridge in both directions, for a period of five weeks, starting  from Monday, 17 April 2023, to carry out the main maintenance works of the bridge. However, the closure has now been extended until further notice, the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai announced in a tweet.

In a tweet, the authority said, “The Floating Bridge closure has been extended in both directions until further notice, to carry out technical tests and ensure the efficiency of the maintenance work on the bridge.”

In order to ensure residents aren’t affected by the closure, authorities have developed an integrated plan to divert traffic to alternative roads. The new route will divert traffic to Al Maktoum Bridge, Infinity Bridge, and Al Garhoud Bridge, and opening the exit of Al Mamzar Street for those coming from Al Ittihad Street. This is in addition to the main roads and axes such as Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Street.
