UAE ranked second best destination in the world for expats to start a new life

A report by global network InterNations has ranked the UAE as the second-best nation among 52 global destinations for foreign workers to start a new life abroad. Read on to know more.

InterNations’ surveyed 11,970 foreigners in 181 countries or territories last year for information on various aspects of life as an expatriate. The Expat Essentials Index ranked locations based on four categories—housing, language, digital life, and administration topics.

Bahrain topped the Expat Essentials Index in terms of providing a smooth transition to people moving to the country. Singapore came in third, followed by Estonia and Oman in fourth and fifth, respectively.

Indonesia bagged the sixth place, followed by Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kenya, and Canada to complete the top 10. However, Germany, Japan, and China were the nations where immigrants had the most trouble adjusting, coming in at 52nd, 51st, and 42nd, respectively (50).

According to a survey conducted by the health insurance provider Cigna in September 2022, the UAE was ranked first globally and among the top 10 countries in the world for expats to relocate, across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.
