Organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism, the event is the perfect place for publishers and other creative people to collaborate, discuss, network and deliver quality cultural content together. The event this year is set to see over 15,000 visitors and 200 exhibitors from publishing houses and more. And if you are planning to visit the exhibition as a guest and for the love of books, you can participate in professional workshops, seminars, and panel discussions; besides, there will also be a pop-up bookshop selling local and international titles, screenings of regional films by Black Box Cinema, art exhibitions and more.
And if you are planning to attend the exhibition with your kids, you must know that the event will also host a kid’s programme that includes writing, drawing and science experiments. Every year the fair focuses on a specific country and personality that lets the visitors experience and understand different literary cultures. This year the focus will be on Turkey and Arab sociologist, philosopher, and historian Ibn Khaldun.

And if you love attending book fairs, you must visit the world’s largest floating book fair in Dubai until April 23. Called Logos Hope, this one-of-its-kind, floating book fair offers over 5,000 titles, providing many visitors with their first-ever opportunity to purchase quality literature. Teams go from the ship into surrounding areas to visit hospitals, schools, orphanages or prisons, supply aid, and provide community care. In each port, the ship’s crew and staff partner with community groups to share hope and show love to people whatever their circumstances, culture or background.
It began operating as a literary platform in 2009 and has since welcomed an astounding 49 million users. However, Logos Hope had a much more interesting beginning than a library in the middle of the sea.
