A $3.5bn Mega Island, featuring 1,800 beach villas is coming to Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi can literally be called the land of islands and there will soon be a brand new addition to this list. Mohamed Alabbar, the founder of Dubai’s developer, Emaar Properties, is set to launch a new $3.5 billion island project in in the capital. The project, named Ramhan Island, will feature 1,800 beach villas, 1,000 branded residences, a hotel and marina.

Docked 20 minutes aways from Abu Dhabi, the island is said to be ‘raw’ and ‘untouched’. Once constructed, it will have a “world-class marina” with cutting-edge retail and excellent dining, a posh hotel, and floating residences. There are currently eight distinct villa designs and floor plans available, ranging in size from 265m2 to 700m2.

Speaking to Arabian Business about the upcoming project Alabbar said: “It’s a rare thing to live on a natural island, complete with a beach – everything being truly from nature, including dolphins, turtles and birds. This is a quality of life that has never been seen before, and it is what we will be delivering – I have been lucky enough to work on some unique projects over the years, but this is something truly special.”

It was reported that also being rolled out are eight different designs of villas of varying sizes.

We can’t wait to explore!
