In anticipation of Eid Al Adha 2025, Dubai Municipality has launched an extensive campaign to handle an expected influx of up to 80,000 heads of livestock across the city. The move is part of a broader plan to enhance customer experience at official abattoirs while maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety, and convenience for residents observing the ritual of sacrifice.
With Eid just around the corner, preparations are now in full swing. With upgrades, smart delivery apps, and stricter veterinary checks, authorities have launched an efficient system.
Abattoirs ready for high demand with tech and trained teams
Dubai’s four designated abattoirs — located in Al Qusais, Al Quoz, Al Lisaili, and Hatta — are now fully equipped and ready to handle the surge in demand expected during the holiday week. These sites will operate from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM throughout Eid.
According to municipal officials, each abattoir is staffed with trained butchers, experienced veterinary professionals, and supported by advanced sterilisation systems to ensure public health remains a top priority. Pre- and post-slaughter veterinary checks will be enforced rigorously to protect consumers and guarantee meat safety.
Al Qusais Abattoir, which handles one of the highest volumes of sacrificial requests, has undergone complete maintenance upgrades ahead of the holiday period to boost its operational efficiency.
Smart apps streamline the sacrificial process

To avoid crowding and long wait times at physical locations, Dubai Municipality is actively encouraging residents to make use of smart sacrifice apps. These digital platforms allow users to select their sacrificial animal, make payments online, and have the meat delivered directly to their doorstep.
Trained personnel use dedicated, sanitized vehicles that comply with strict hygiene protocols to handle the delivery process. More families now choose this convenient, contactless way to fulfill their religious duties.
These digital tools improve user experience and support the city’s move toward smart governance.
Strict inspections and public awareness drive
With the expected surge in livestock and public movement around abattoirs, Dubai Municipality is also deploying a wide network of inspectors and field officers. They regulate livestock quality, manage market traffic, and ensure safety, especially during Eid.
Authorities remind residents to avoid unauthorized animal slaughtering outside official abattoirs. Authorities warn that illegal practices risk health, harm the environment, and violate religious, safety, and legal standards.
The municipality promotes certified abattoirs and approved apps, ensuring compliance with Islamic and health standards.
Dubai sets a new benchmark for Eid preparations
Dubai’s comprehensive Eid Al Adha plan for 2025 reflects the emirate’s commitment to safety, innovation, and cultural responsibility. With a streamlined blend of smart technology, trained professionals, and efficient infrastructure, the city is offering residents an elevated, hassle-free sacrificial experience.
Residents can perform Eid duties traditionally or digitally, with safety and hygiene ensured.
