Season 2 of the Indian spin-off is officially toast. The global spy universe gave us major adrenaline rush. But apparently, Honey and Bunny won’t be hopping back for another round? Citadel: Honey Bunny Not Renewed for season ?
The Citadel universe had us globe-trotting through bullets, betrayal, and badassery from Priyanka Chopra’s fierce Nadia Sinh to the fiery chaos in Italy and India. But while Citadel: Diana (Italy) and Citadel: Honey Bunny (India) had fans locked in, both spin-offs have been officially axed after just one season. Looks like Amazon decided to Marie Kondo the spin-offs and keep only what sparks global joy.
A Deadline reports quoted Vernon Sanders – Head of Television, Amazon MGM Studios, talking about the cancellation of the Citadel sister shows saying, “Having successfully traversed India and Italy, storylines from both Citadel: Honey Bunny and Citadel: Diana will be woven into the upcoming second season of the mothership series Citadel.”
He continued, “While these successful and widely enjoyed international chapters will not continue as individual series. Season 2 of Citadel will be our most exhilarating yet. With high-stakes storytelling, new additions to our amazing cast and bold, cinematic ambition, the new season will deepen the emotional journeys of Nadia, Mason and Orlick against the relentless force that is Manticore. We’re excited to share what’s next when Citadel Season 2 premieres globally in Q2 of 2026.”
Citadel OG: The Franchise That Refuses To Quit
Let’s rewind a bit – Citadel (the main dish) dropped in April 2023 with Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden bringing the heat as agents Mason Kane and Nadia Sinh. Their sizzling chemistry, gravity-defying action, and that mysterious espionage backstory had fans obsessed.
In case you missed it, Honey Bunny was set as a prequel featuring Samantha and Varun as young guns and parents to Nadia. They were badass spy mom and dad. Alongside them? A killer supporting cast, including Kay Kay Menon, Simran, Sikandar Kher, and Saqib Saleem.
What’s Next?
Citadel Season 2 will premiere worldwide in Q2 of 2026. It’s a long wait, but from what the studio is promising, this one’s going to go harder, bolder, and deeper into the madness of Manticore.
So, while we wave goodbye to our homegrown spy couple, the Citadel universe isn’t done flexing. Priyanka is still queen, Richard is still brooding. Now with some Desi and Italian masala added to the pot, Season 2 might just blow our minds.
