Give those McDonald’s burgers a miss and opt for their all-new rice bowls! Yes, you read that right! McDonald’s in the UAE has now given it’s menu a much-needed desi twist by adding rice bowls. Foodies can pick from three rice bowl options- two made of chicken and one with beef and mushroom. You can order from three different option including:

  • Chicken Curry Rice Bowl
  • Chicken Teriyaki Rice Bowl
  • Beef with Mushroom & Gravy Rice Bowl

All the rice bowls are priced at AED20, which means you can enjoy a sumptuous meal without tearing your pocket. The new menu is available for dine-in or takeaway through McDelivery.

Last year, the popular fast-food chain launched six rice meal options in order to test the selection. The test meals included Chicken Katsu Curry, Chicken Teriyaki, Chili con Carne and Beef with Gravy and Mushrooms. Three out of six seem to have made the cut onto the final menu, now available across the country. The test meals were available until stocks lasted and were tested across 30 locations in the country.

During the testing period, the meals were priced at AED12. However, they are now available on the official menu starting at AED20.

“While burgers and fries will always be the backbone of our offerings, we want to make sure we appeal to the tastes of our local community and bring them closer to the flavors they love. Because our customers are at the heart of everything we do, we decided to test Rice Meals and base the decision to keep them on the menu on feedback we receive from them and the performance of each product at these 30 restaurants. We look forward to hearing from our customers and we hope they enjoy them as much as we have while creating them!” said Walid Fakih, CEO at McDonald’s UAE, at the time of the testing menu.

On another note, did you know Al Baik has now launched it’s first-ever drive-through in the UAE?

Al Baik’s first drive-through is located in Al Rashidiya, Dubai, at an Eppco petrol station. Well, that clearly means you can take a pit-stop while refueling your car. This will be the Saudi fried chicken brand’s eighth outlet in the UAE. Al Baik debuted at The Dubai Mall in June 2021.

The brand attracts foodies for its delicious broasted chicken, as well as a variety of sandwiches. The new drive-through will have a soft opening next week, following which there will be a grand opening towards the end of Ramadan. The menu will be limited, but it will include all-time favorites like chicken nuggets and sandwiches. In December 2022, Al Baik opened its first outlet in Abu Dhabi.
