The latest data from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) highlights the country’s consistent contribution to relief and development efforts, reinforcing its growing presence on the international stage.
According to the Financial Tracking Service, the UAE allocated $1.46 billion in humanitarian assistance this year, representing 7.2% of total global aid. Only the United States and the European Union contributed more. The total global aid recorded reached $20.28 billion, placing the UAE ahead of every other donor nation in the world.
This ranking reflects not just financial contribution but also a longstanding national philosophy. For decades, the UAE has committed itself to extending support to communities facing crises—whether natural disasters, conflicts, or long-term development challenges.

Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs and Chairman of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council, noted that the UAE’s recognition is deeply rooted in the country’s values.
He highlighted that UAE humanitarian efforts are based on human dignity, solidarity, and cooperation. The mission, he said, is to support communities without discrimination—regardless of religion, nationality, background, or geography.
This approach reflects the humanitarian legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who strongly believed in helping nations build long-term stability. Today, this vision continues under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

It is recognised not only for the amount of aid provided but for transparent delivery, global partnerships, and a neutral approach focused on human need rather than political alignment.
