This move was announced during a recent cabinet meeting led by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The Blue Residency visa will be granted to local and global environmental activists, award-winning researchers, and advocates for sustainable practices.
Application Process
Interested candidates can apply for the Blue Residency visa through the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security. This streamlined process reflects the UAE’s dedication to attracting top talent in the sustainability sector.

In addition to the Blue Residency announcement, the cabinet approved the National Youth Agenda 2031, focusing on empowering the country’s young population across various sectors. Elevating Higher Education Standards
The cabinet also endorsed a new framework for evaluating higher education institutions in the UAE. Over 70 institutions will undergo classification and recognition based on criteria such as quality, employability of graduates, research excellence, and global academic affiliations.
