UAE: Indian Consulate in Dubai Celebrates 3rd Anniversary of Unwavering Community Service

The Indian Consulate in Dubai commemorated three years of “365 days of service” to the thriving 3.6-million-strong Indian community in the UAE. The Consulate General of India in Dubai has been providing round-the-clock assistance to the Indian community in need of consular services since August 2020

This initiative, led by Dr. Aman Puri, the Consul General of India in Dubai, has been made possible through the continuous support of UAE local authorities, Indian associations, community welfare groups, volunteers, and partners such as BLS International and IVS Global, who provide outsourced services to the Indian consulate in Dubai.

Ramkumar Thangaraj expressed heartfelt gratitude to the UAE authorities and the Indian community for their constant support, innovation, and outstanding initiatives, which have empowered millions of Indians to succeed and contribute to the development of both countries.

Acting Consul General Ramkumar Thangaraj, along with Abdulla Lashkari Mohammad, Secretary-General of the Permanent Committee of Labour Affairs in Dubai, and Jitendra Vaidya, President of the Indian People Forum, honored the officials and volunteers who have contributed to the success of the Indian Consulate in Dubai.

Honoring Volunteers: Indian Consulate in Dubai Empowers Expats

The Indian Consulate in Dubai takes pride in serving the largest Indian expat community globally, providing an average of 1,800 to 2,000 services daily, sometimes exceeding 2,500. Over the last year, they have delivered approximately 250,000 passport-related services, 150,000 attestation-related services, repatriated 78 individuals’ mortal remains, and offered various other essential services, making it the most services delivered by any Indian mission worldwide.

During the ceremony, Abdulla Lashkari Mohammad delivered an inspiring speech in Hindi, earning loud applause from the Indian audience. Jitendra Vaidya highlighted the continuous improvement by the Indian Consulate in Dubai and praised the team’s dedication during the COVID-19 pandemic, which led to the introduction of “365 days of services.”

Advocate Bindu S Chettur, one of the legal counselors honored, spoke about how the free legal counseling services through the Pravasi Bharatiya Sahayta Kendra (PBSK) have benefited numerous Indians in distress.

The Indian Consulate in Dubai has achieved remarkable milestones with over 2,55,000 passport and related services, more than 1,50,000 attestation-related services, and repatriating 78 mortal remains to India, among other significant services.

This auspicious event further reinforced the strong bond between India and the UAE, while also showcasing the spirit of unity and solidarity within the Indian expat community in Dubai. The Indian Consulate General remains dedicated to supporting and uplifting its fellow Indians, ensuring their welfare and prosperity in the UAE.
