Shreyas Talpade, the man with the charm and wit, took a detour into the serious lane when he faced a heart attack on the set of his upcoming movie, ‘Welcome To The Jungle,’ on December 14th. After a rollercoaster ride to Mumbai’s Bellevue Hospital and a successful angioplasty, Shreyas, the ever-smiling entertainer, spills the beans on the close call with the big C—the cardiac arrest!
Shreyas Talpade shares his cardiac arrest experience
In a chat with Times Of India, Shreyas dropped the bomb, revealing that he was “clinically dead” for a whopping 10 minutes. The doctors had to whip out the electric shocks just to bring him back to the land of the living.
“Jaan hai toh jahaan hai (If there is life, there is the world} – Shreyas ain’t mincing words when he dishes out this golden nugget of wisdom, urging everyone to stop taking life for granted. The man himself spilled the tea, saying, “This is my second chance at life!”
Here’s what Shreyas exactly said, “Clinically, I was dead. It was a massive cardiac arrest. A wake-up call would be an understatement. This is my second chance at life!” He also recalled how his wife Deepti had rushed him to the hospital. Shreyas added, “After the last shot, I felt breathless, and my left hand started paining. I could barely walk to my vanity van and change my clothes. I thought it was a muscle pull since we were shooting action sequences. You don’t think of the worst-case scenario, right? I had never experienced this kind of fatigue.”
He added, “As soon as I got into the car, I felt I should head straight to the hospital, but thought I should go home first. My wife, Deepti, saw me in that state and within 10 minutes, we were on our way to the hospital. We were almost there and could see the hospital gate, but the entry was barricaded, and we had to take a U-turn. The very next moment my face went numb, and I passed out. That was a cardiac arrest.“
