In a recent interview, the maestro himself spilled some hot tea about the film. According to Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Love & War is going to be nothing like his usual royal vibes! No towering pillars, no elaborate period costumes, and definitely no horses. This one’s set in the modern era, and Bhansali promises it’s going to hit us with something completely fresh. “It’s a very very special film because it’s now not in the period, there are no pillars, no more costumes, no more horses; it’s contemporary. It’s different, the music is different,“ he said. And guess what? He’s teaming up with Ranbir Kapoor after a whopping 18 years since Saawariya!

Bhansali isn’t messing around with this casting! He’s bringing together the power trio of Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal for what promises to be a cinematic treat. Alia, of course, made waves with her jaw-dropping performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi, and Ranbir’s history with Sanjay Leela Bhansali dates back to his debut in Saawariya.

While we were all gearing up for a Christmas 2025 release, Love & War has officially shifted its release date to March 20, 2026. The film will drop during a major festive stretch that includes Ramzan, Ram Navami, and Gudi Padwa, so you know it’s going to be a blockbuster-worthy time to hit the cinemas.

The film is all set to go on floors next month, and we’re already buzzing with excitement.
