Our chocolate boy-turned-inspirational hero is now strapping on his aviators for Shimit Amin’s upcoming biopic, Captain India and honestly, the name itself has blockbuster written all over it.
Kartik Aaryan to lead Shimit Amin’s Captain India
Reports in Pinkvilla state, “Kartik Aaryan and Shimit Amin have been in discussions for the past year, exploring various subjects for a potential collaboration. It was during these talks that Kartik introduced Shimit to the story of Captain India, which the filmmaker found to be a captivating story.”
The film follows the real-life saga of an Air Force Captain. There will be high-octane drama, and yes, it’s going to make you want to salute by the end credits. The shoot is reportedly taking off in early 2026, with India and Morocco as the main backdrops. A little desert, a little desi, and a whole lot of action? Count us in.
The film is tentatively set for a 2027 release. We know, it’s a long wait, but epic biopics don’t make themselves overnight. Plus, Kartik’s calendar is packed tighter than Mumbai local trains at rush hour.
What’s next For kartik?
While Captain India is on pre-flight checks, Kartik is currently busy romancing Ananya Panday in Tu Meri Main Tera. The film is dropping on Valentine’s week 2026. He will also star in Anurag Basu’s untitled chaos and Mrighdeep Singh Lamba’s wild ride, Nagzilla, and we’re starting to think Kartik has secretly cloned himself.
