UAE Announces Free Parking and Toll Waiver for Prophet’s Birthday Holiday

Streamlined Services for a Stress-Free Holiday

Abu Dhabi, UAE – The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi has unveiled special arrangements for the upcoming public holiday, the Prophet’s Birthday, celebrated on September 29. In an effort to facilitate smoother travel experiences for residents and visitors, the ITC has announced free parking, a toll waiver, and public bus schedule adjustments.

Free Surface Parking:

To encourage hassle-free travel during the holiday, surface parking will be free from Friday until 7:59 am on Saturday. This applies to designated parking areas across Abu Dhabi. However, the ITC has emphasized the importance of avoiding prohibited parking zones and obstructing traffic flow. Furthermore, drivers are urged to adhere to proper parking etiquette, particularly in residential areas, between 9 pm and 8 am.

On the day of Prophet’s Birthday, the Darb toll gate system will operate without charges, providing a cost-effective commute for motorists. The toll gate charges will resume on Saturday during regular peak hours, from 7 am to 9 am and from 5 pm to 7 pm.

Public Bus Services:

For the convenience of the public, public bus services in Abu Dhabi will continue to operate according to their usual schedules throughout the weekend and the official holiday. This ensures that residents and visitors can rely on the city’s public transportation system to meet their travel needs.

Customer Happiness Centres Closure:

It’s important to note that Customers’ Happiness Centres across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi will be closed during the holiday.
