On June 16, the Chopra family lost one of its strongest roots, Raman Rai Handa, Mannara Chopra’s father and Priyanka Chopra’s uncle. Known for his wisdom and warmth, he leaves behind a deep void felt in both personal and public spaces.
Priyanka paused her jet-setting life to honour her beloved uncle. Taking to her Instagram story, Priyanka shared a simple yet powerful message: “You will always be in our hearts. Rest easy, Raman uncle (fufaji).” Sometimes, the shortest notes carry the deepest emotions.
Mannara Chopra Shares The News
Mannara, still processing the unimaginable loss, broke the news via Instagram with a heavy heart. “With profound grief and sorrow, we inform the sad demise of our loving father,” she wrote, adding that he left for his heavenly abode on June 16. The Chopra family, known for their close-knit bond, is leaning on each other through this difficult time.
The final rites for Raman Rai Handa will take place on June 18 at 1 PM. The location is Crematorium Ground, Amboli, Andheri West, Mumbai, and the family has requested privacy during this difficult time. They are bidding farewell to someone who meant the world to them.

Not just a father, husband, or uncle, Raman Rai Handa was a highly respected legal voice at the Delhi High Court. Married to Kamini Chopra (Priyanka and Parineeti’s paternal aunt), he was a man of intellect, integrity, and immense warmth. He leaves behind his wife Kamini and two daughters, Mannara and Mitali, who were the pride of his life.
