For those driving to university or school in Dubai, daily parking can be a headache, and now even more expensive following new peak-hour fees. Parkin’s Dh100/month subscription for students and teachers changes that. Here’s a closer look.
A smart solution to daily parking stress
If you’re a student or a teacher driving to school or university in Dubai, daily parking fees can quickly pile up, especially after the recent hike in parking rates during peak hours. Recognising this, Parkin has rolled out a monthly parking pass starting at just Dh100 to help ease the burden for students and staff members of educational institutions.
The subscription covers both roadside and plot parking in Zones A, B, C, and D within a 500-metre radius of the subscriber’s campus.
Parkin introduces new subscriptions designed for students, educators, and multi-storey parking access, with flexible options to suit your daily needs.

Who can apply for the Dh100 parking pass?
This new pass is available for:
- Students enrolled at recognised Dubai-based institutions
- Teachers and staff working at private educational facilities
All that’s required is valid proof of student or staff status when applying for the permit. It’s a step aimed at supporting the education community with practical, cost-saving transport solutions.
Where the pass can be used
The Dh100 pass is only applicable within a 500-metre zone around the registered campus and covers four key parking zones:
- Zone A
- Zone B
- Zone C
- Zone D
This includes both roadside and plot parking options, making it easier for subscribers to park closer to their institution without needing to worry about variable fees throughout the day.
Optional multi-storey parking plans are also available
For those looking for more secure or shaded parking, especially in commercial or residential areas, Parkin has also introduced a separate multi-storey parking subscription, starting from Dh735 per month. This option is ideal for professionals or residents needing daily access to structured parking near their home or office.
Addressing the impact of peak-hour parking fees
Earlier this year, Dubai implemented variable parking tariffs across the city. In premium zones, fees now reach up to Dh6 for the first hour during peak periods (8 am to 10 am and 4 pm to 8 pm), increasing progressively to Dh24 for four hours. This has significantly affected daily commuters, especially those who park near schools or offices in high-demand areas.
By introducing the Dh100 pass for students and teachers, Parkin aims to soften the financial impact and make everyday travel more manageable for those in education.
Key details to keep in mind
- The Dh100 monthly pass is limited to one active vehicle per user
- Applicants must provide valid documentation to confirm eligibility
- Coverage is confined to the four mentioned zones around the campus
- Vehicle registration outside Dubai may have different limitations
- Multi-storey passes are separate and do not fall under the Dh100 plan
How to subscribe
Eligible users can apply through Parkin’s official mobile app or customer portal. After submitting the required documentation and selecting their preferred zone, the pass can be activated immediately after payment. Subscribers can then park freely in their designated area for the rest of the month.
It’s a straightforward process that gives students and staff more control over their monthly transport costs.
As Dubai continues to modernise its transport and parking infrastructure, initiatives like this one make a real difference. With more affordable and accessible parking options tailored to specific communities, daily commutes can become a little less stressful—and a lot more affordable.
