More drivers in Dubai are adjusting to new parking rules as the city’s paid-parking network expands into four additional areas. The initiative from Parkin PJSC provides structured parking options in the regions that previously had less formal arrangements. Here’s what you should know if you drive and park across the emirate.
Expansion details & tariff breakdown

Parkin has introduced paid-parking coverage in these four zones:
- Dubai Outsource City (Zone Code 812T): Tariffs start at Dh 2 for 30 minutes, Dh 4 for one hour, Dh 8 for two hours, Dh 12 for three hours, Dh 16 for four hours, Dh 20 for five hours, Dh 24 for six hours, Dh 28 for seven hours and Dh 36 for the full day.
- Dubai Studio City (Zone Code 675T): Same rate structure as above for short-to-seven-hour stays, with full-day at Dh 36.
- Dubai International Academic City (Zone Code 812F): Similar pattern: Dh 2 for 30 minutes, up to Dh 28 for seven hours, and Dh 32 for 24 hours.
- Dubai Sports City (Zone Code 682S): Tariffs begin at Dh 2 for the first hour, then Dh 4 for two hours, Dh 6 for three hours, Dh 8 for four hours, Dh 10 for five hours, Dh 12 for six hours, Dh 14 for seven hours, and Dh 20 for the full day.
These rates bring increased clarity to parking costs in these key areas. Clear signage and zone codes have been installed so motorists know when they’re entering a paid zone.
The rollout matters
Driving around Dubai often means juggling where to park, how much it will cost, and whether it’s regulated. With the new zones, residents, commuters and visitors gain more predictable parking terms.
- Knowing your tariff ahead of time helps avoid unwelcome surprises.
- The designated zones mean fewer rogue parking spots and better managed traffic flow.
- If you park often in one of these areas, you can gauge whether a longer stay or full-day spot is worth it.
- For the city as a whole, expanding paid parking helps balance demand across busy districts.
for drivers
- Double-check the zone code before you park — the signage now includes codes like 812T, 675T, 812F and 682S.
- If your stay is brief, opting for half-hour or one-hour slots might offer value rather than full-day payment.
- For full-day parking in these zones, compare rates — for example Dh 20 in Sports City vs Dh 36 in Outsource/Studio City.
- Use the official Parkin app or payment channels to manage your parking session, as the operator supports multiple digital options.
- Stay aware of any time-based rules (operating hours or peak vs off-peak) that might apply depending on the zone.
Every day impact for Dubai residents
These changes resonate for many types of drivers:
- Commuters working in Outsource City or Studio City now face clearer costs if they need to park for several hours.
- Students or staff at Academic City can budget more precisely for parking during classes or lab sessions.
- Sports fans or visitors heading to events in Sports City now know that full-day parking is set at a comparatively modest rate.
- Regular short-stay drivers benefit from the structured half-hour and one-hour slots rather than guessing the right rate.
If you drive in Dubai and park in Outsource City, Studio City, Academic City or Sports City, it’s a good time to update your parking routine. With defined zones, published tariffs and better signage, parking is becoming more set-and-forget than ever before. Stay informed, choose smartly, and you’ll avoid unnecessary costs.
