Dubai has opened a major new bridge designed to help reduce the city’s heavy traffic. This two-lane bridge is 666 meters long and can handle up to 3,200 vehicles per hour, providing much-needed relief for drivers.
Part of a Bigger Project
This bridge is part of the Garn Al Sabhka-Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Intersection Improvement Project, which is almost complete. The goal is to make travel in Dubai quicker and easier by improving road capacity and traffic flow.

Better Access to Key Areas
The new bridge directs traffic from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road to the service road, making reaching places like Jumeirah Golf Estate and Dubai Production City easier. It’s one of four bridges in the project, which will span 2,874 meters and accommodate 17,600 vehicles per hour.

Addressing Growing Needs
Dubai’s rapid growth means there’s a higher demand for better roads. This project includes 7 kilometers of new roadworks, intersectional upgrades, and new streetlights, traffic systems, and drainage and irrigation systems.

Other Bridges in the Project
- Garn Al Sabkha Street and Al Asayel Street Bridge: This 943-meter bridge can handle 8,000 vehicles per hour in both directions.
- Garn Al Sabkha Street Bridge: A 601-meter bridge designed for 3,200 vehicles per hour.
- Al Yalayes Street Bridge: A 664-meter bridge that helps traffic flow towards Jebel Ali Port, also handling 3,200 vehicles per hour.
