NEOM’s Futuristic Airport To Have Supersonic Aircraft, AI Integration & More

There’s a lot that’s coming up in Saudi Arabia, and one of them has to be NEOM. Known to be one of the most futuristic townships in the world, NEOM will have 41 islands to explore, and its unique location will provide residents with enhanced livability while protecting 95% of the surrounding natural landscape. NEOM Airlines will launch operations from the NEOM Bay Airport by the end of 2024. The airline will focus on transferring tourists, residents, and commercial partners to and from NEOM. In the beginning, to meet the high travel demand, the airline will initially use existing planes with current technology; however, 2026 will be a game changer for NEOM airlines. As per the news, the airline will invest in cutting-edge aircraft such as “electric, hydrogen-powered, or supersonic planes” with next-generation interiors.

Besides this, it will also reinvent air travel by integrating AI, eliminating the visa system and more. It will implement biometric facial recognition technology, replacing departure gates and making travel easier than before. When it comes to aircraft, they will be in-built with in-seat gaming and chat technologies, 6G Wi-Fi, huge screens at every seat, seamless in-flight entertainment and more.

Furthermore, the airline aims to enable passengers’ bag pick-up service from their homes to their destinations by enabling biometric technology. The airline will not only represent the kingdom of Saudi Arabia but will also start a new chapter in the aviation industry.
