Dubai’s Mall of the Emirates has removed its traditional parking barriers, bringing a new, hassle-free parking experience to visitors. While this change eliminates the need to stop at entry and exit points, parking fees remain the same.
The new system, based on license plate recognition technology, is designed to ease congestion and speed up parking, making it more efficient for shoppers and visitors.
How Does the New Parking System Work?

Instead of barriers, cameras at the entrance and exit automatically scan vehicle license plates. This allows the system to track parking time and charge accordingly.
If a parking fee applies, visitors will receive an SMS with a link to make the payment via a secure, user-friendly online platform. For those who frequently visit the mall, linking an account to Parkin’s wallet ensures quick and easy future transactions.
Are Parking Fees Changing?
No, the parking fees remain unchanged despite the shift to a barrier-free system. The new method is purely designed to enhance convenience and eliminate wait times.

When Will This System Be Fully Implemented?
The barrier-free parking system has already been introduced at City Centre Deira, with Mall of the Emirates set to launch it in February 2025. Over the next few months, all visitors will transition to this new method, ensuring a smoother experience.
Why Is This Change Happening?
With 20 million cars using Mall of the Emirates’ 7,000+ parking spaces every year, this new system aims to reduce congestion, eliminate queues, and provide a seamless experience. The goal is to make parking more efficient, secure, and user-friendly without requiring tickets or manual payments.
Mall of the Emirates continues to innovate, and this barrier-free parking system is another step toward making visitors’ shopping experience smoother. With no more waiting at barriers, paying for parking is now quicker and more convenient.
