The much-anticipated barrierless parking system at Mall of the Emirates (MoE) is officially live as of February 3, 2025. Designed to make parking seamless and hassle-free, this ticketless parking system allows visitors to drive in and out without stopping at barriers. The system, powered by Parkin Company, automatically detects vehicle license plates and charges applicable fees accordingly.
Here’s everything you need to know for those wondering how this affects their visit to the mall.
How Does the New Parking System Work?
The automated parking system at Mall of the Emirates removes the need for traditional entry and exit barriers. Instead, advanced camera technology captures each vehicle’s license plate, logging entry and exit times. This means:
- No stopping at barriers – simply drive in and out.
- No paper tickets – your vehicle details are automatically recorded.
- No need to download an app – fees are sent via SMS with a payment link.
If a vehicle exceeds the free parking period, the registered owner will receive a notification with the amount due. Payments can be made via credit card, debit card, Apple Pay, or the Parkin App.
Parking Fees and Free Parking Rules
Weekday Parking (Monday to Friday):
- 0-4 hours – Free
- 4-5 hours – AED 20
- 5-6 hours – AED 40
- 6-7 hours – AED 60
- 7-8 hours – AED 100
- 8+ hours – AED 150
- Overnight parking is not allowed – fine of AED 200 per day
Weekend Parking (Saturday & Sunday):
- Free for all visitors
Additionally, a pass-through charge of AED 3 applies to those using the MoE parking lot as a shortcut to avoid traffic on Al Barsha roads.
How to Get Free Parking at MoE
Visitors can extend free parking beyond four hours by validating their purchases at the mall. Here’s how:
- Spend AED 150 or more – Get free parking for the entire day by validating at the customer service desk.
- VOX Cinemas or Ski Dubai – Enjoy two extra free hours on top of the four-hour standard.
- Valet Parking Users – Automatically receive free parking.
- Persons of Determination (PoD) – Can waive fees at the customer service desk by presenting a valid permit.
How to Pay for Parking at Mall of the Emirates
If parking fees apply, visitors have three days to complete payment. Actually, “We will send the amount due via SMS, and you can make the payment through:
- The link provided in the SMS
- Parkin App or website
- Credit/debit card or Apple Pay
Failure to pay within three days results in a standard parking fine of AED 150. Motorists will receive two SMS reminders before a final phone call on the third day.
What to Do if We Don’t Recognize Your License Plate
The new system boasts a 99.99% accuracy rate in detecting license plates. However, if an error occurs, we will not charge the vehicle. Visitors can contact 800-Park (7275) for assistance.

Security and Privacy Measures
We securely store all license plates and parking details, and we do not share them with third parties. We retain data in the system while the car is registered with the government, and we archive transaction records for three years.

The barrierless parking system at MoE is part of a broader rollout by Majid Al Futtaim (MAF) and Parkin. We have already introduced similar systems at City Centre Deira and plan to expand to other shopping destinations in Dubai.
