The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has unveiled its prestigious lineup of new invitees, with a notable addition of 398 talented individuals set to join their ranks this year. Among the distinguished names are renowned figures from the Indian film industry, such as Karan Johar, esteemed actors Ram Charan and Jr NTR from the movie RRR, acclaimed director Mani Ratnam, and the accomplished Siddharth Roy Kapur, among others.
These esteemed Indian personalities will be joined by an array of international stars, including the immensely talented Taylor Swift, the versatile Ke Huy Qwan, the charismatic Austin Butler, the exceptional Abel ‘The Weeknd’ Tesfaye, the remarkable Stephanie Hsu, and many more.
The Academy, consisting of over 10,000 members, holds the exclusive privilege of voting for the esteemed Oscar winners. Looking ahead, the upcoming Oscars ceremony is scheduled for March 10 next year. However, in the current year, several Indian celebrities have already left their mark on the Oscars stage. Notably, the song “Naatu Naatu” from the film RRR made history by securing the prestigious accolade for Best Original Song, while Guneet Monga’s “The Elephant Whisperers” emerged triumphant in the category of Best Documentary Short.
