Janhvi Kapoor Criticizes Paparazzi for ‘Wrong Angles’, Believes They’re Forced to Listen Now

Bollywood’s fierce Gen Z queen, Janhvi Kapoor, isn’t just turning heads with her acting chops and killer fashion sense – she’s also making waves with her bold, no-nonsense attitude. Recently, during an promotional interview, our girl Janhvi didn’t hold back when asked about the ever-intrusive paparazzi culture.

here’s what Janhvi Kapoor has to say on the Pap Culture

In an unfiltered chat with Hauterrfly’s The Male Feminist, Janhvi spilled the tea on how she stood her ground against invasive paparazzi. She recalled a moment while promoting Mr and Mrs Mahi, where she called out the paps. She said, “Please galat angle se mat lena (please don’t click pictures from a long angle).” Since then, the paps have been on their best behavior. “Now, they’re like, ‘Nahi, nahi hum peeche se nahi lenge! Arre mudo mudo (No, we will not click from behind. Turn around)!’” Janhvi quipped, appreciating the newfound respect.

Janhvi didn’t mince words about the clickbait culture either. She pointed out how back shots often become the juiciest clickbait. “They put like, ‘Guess who is this’ from the back shot, and that gets the maximum amount of clickbait,” she noted. But she wasn’t having any of it, asserting, “I can say that I don’t like how I am being shown in this. I am not comfortable with people seeing this much of me that way. They are forced to listen to me because this is my decision and my choice.”

Reflecting on her growth, Janhvi shared that she wouldn’t have been this outspoken a few years ago. “Aur maine bola bhi kaise (And how did I say that)… this is also a trope that I feel a lot of women use, that I have used a lot. That I don’t want to be putting off in my opinion. I want to bahut pyaar se, buddhu ban ke bas bolna chahti hoon (I want to state my point with love and casually) because that is more palatable.”

What’s Next for Janhvi?

Janhvi is on fire! Her upcoming film Ulajh is set to hit theaters on August 2, 2024. And that’s not all, she’s making her grand Telugu debut in Devara alongside Jr. NTR and Saif Ali Khan. Plus, she’ll be dazzling us in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari with Varun Dhawan.
