Flying Taxis In Dubai To Cost As Cheap As Uber Rides Confirms RTA Offical

Dubai is ready for the future, and the emirate never shies to prove this point. From innovative and futuristic museums to ultra-luxurious hotels, Dubai is all set to lead the future and how. Recently, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, approved the designs of the new air taxi stations in the city and confirmed that Dubai would operate air taxis in the next three years.

While air taxis sound fun, they could potentially burn a hole in our pockets. However, to put things in perspective, a top official from the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that air taxis in Dubai could cost as little as an Uber ride. Once launched, it will be an expensive affair for a while and will cater majorly to tourists and businessmen, but eventually, once it becomes a day-to-day mode of transport, the prices will go down too.

Ahmed Bahrozyan, Chief Executive Officer of The Public Transport Agency at RTA, said that in the launch phase, the cost would be higher; but once the production of the vehicles increases, the cost of technology will be cut down, and it will become a day-to-day mode of transport for many people living in the city.

Reaching your workplace in an air taxi sounds fun, and what makes it even better is that sustainability and affordability are the main factors the RTA is considering for air taxis. The initial launch network will connect 4-main areas in Dubai – near Dubai International airport, Downtown Dubai, Palm Jumeirah and Dubai Marina.

Dubai is aiming high to become a futuristic city, and with the launch of these air taxis, the emirate is proving that it can soon become a superpower as well.
