Etihad Airways Expects 4 Million Passengers Over Summers, Other Airlines Add More Flights Too

With Eid Al Adha and summer vacation around the corner, UAE is about to get busy with an influx of outbound and inbound travellers. And airlines are issuing travel advisories to ensure that travellers have a hassle-free journey. After Emirates and FlyDubai, Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways has announced that it expects to welcome more than 4 million passengers at Abu Dhabi International Airport between June 20 and September 30. In a statement on Wednesday, Etihad Airways confirmed the numbers and has issued a travel advisory for passengers. Read on to know more.

Etihad Airways Issues Travel Advisory To Deal With Holiday Rush

With more than 4 million passenger volumes, Etihad Airways has asked travellers to opt for online check-in options. Online check-in allows guests to complete all the checks prior to reaching the airport. Besides, Etihad Airways also provides an Auto Doc Check feature, which ensures that guests are in line with all the relevant travel and visa requirements. In addition, the airline is also offering a self-service bag drop facility for a simpler and quicker check-in process. The self-service facilities allow travellers to print the bag tag and process their bags in less than two minutes.

Besides this, Etihad Airways has also issued an advisory for pilgrims travelling for Hajj. There will be a dedicated Hajj team at Abu Dhabi International Airport, and the airlines also have check-in counters for Hajj pilgrims in place to ensure a smooth ground experience for those venturing on their Hajj journey.

FlyDubai Expects More Than 4.5 Million Passengers

Besides Etihad Airways, Dubai’s low-cost carrier, FlyDubai, is expecting more than 4.5 million passengers between June and the end of September. And to ensure that everyone travels comfortably with the airline, FlyDubai has added 33 per cent more capacity across their markets for the Eid holiday and busy summer period. Furthermore, it has issued a travel advisory that you must note if you are flying with FlyDubai for your upcoming holidays.

The airline has advised the passengers to arrive at the airport at least four hours before departure. Besides, the airline has also announced that check-in closes 60 minutes before the departure and boarding gates 20 minutes before the takeoff.

FlyDubai

Airline Advises Passengers To Arrive 4 Hours Before Flight Departure 

When it comes to online check-in, it opens from 48 hours up to 90 minutes before the flight departure time. Before heading to the airport, passengers must check their baggage allowance to avoid confusion later. Furthermore, FlyDubai advises travellers to check all the documentation required for travel to their destination, including any visas and health requirements, before arriving at the airport.

Meanwhile, Emirates Airlines has announced the addition of extra flights to and from the holy cities of Mecca and Jeddah. Medina will also be served with daily flights during the Hajj period. Emirates has added ten flights to and from Jeddah and 34 additional flights added to popular Eid Al Adha destinations in the Middle East. The airline added ten to Amman from 21 to 30 June and ten to Beirut from 20 to 29 June. It has added five flights to Dammam from 21 to 25 June and nine flights to Kuwait from 22 June to 2 July.
