Dubai has introduced the ‘Erth Dubai’ initiative, encouraging residents to share personal stories that highlight the city’s transformation. Launched by Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, this project aims to preserve Dubai’s rich history and cultural heritage.
Community Participation Encouraged
“The initiative invites people of all ages to share stories, documenting Dubai’s heritage for future generations. We’ll create an interactive platform for collecting these narratives, which a specialized jury will later evaluate.
Educational Campaigns in Schools
In collaboration with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), ‘Erth Dubai’ will launch a campaign encouraging students to document the stories of their parents and grandparents. This effort aims to help young people connect with their roots and appreciate the experiences that have shaped Dubai’s journey.
Part of Ongoing Heritage Preservation Efforts
‘Erth Dubai’ complements ongoing projects such as the Dubai National Archives Project, overseen by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library. This project preserves significant accounts of Dubai’s history, making the emirate’s story accessible to future generations.”
How to Participate
