Emirates Unveils Its First Retrofitted Boeing 777 with 1-2-1 Business Class and Premium Economy

Emirates has just revealed its first retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, featuring new Business Class and Premium Economy cabins. This upgrade took only 37 days and promises to elevate the flying experience for passengers.

Addressing Outdated In-Flight Experience

Many frequent flyers felt the older 2-3-2 business class layout on Emirates’ Boeing 777s was becoming outdated. The need for more private and spacious seating was evident as other airlines began offering upgraded configurations.

Rising Passenger Expectations

Passengers today expect more comfort and privacy, especially in premium cabins. As competitors roll out new features, Emirates needed to act to maintain its status as a leader in luxury air travel.

Emirates’ Solution: A Total Cabin Overhaul

Emirates responded by completely overhauling its Boeing 777-300ER cabins. The new Business Class now features 38 seats in a 1-2-1 layout, ensuring each passenger has direct aisle access. These seats convert into fully flat beds, offering up to 78.6 inches of recline. The cabins are also equipped with modern touches like touchscreen seat controllers and 23-inch HD entertainment screens.

Premium Economy, a first for Emirates on the 777, includes 24 seats in a 2-4-2 layout. Passengers can enjoy 38 inches of pitch and 19.5-inch wide seats with an 8-inch recline. The cabin’s wood panel finishing and leather seats provide a touch of sophistication.

A New Standard of Luxury

Emirates’ President, Sir Tim Clark, emphasized that the new Business Class offers exclusivity and privacy. The Premium Economy cabin is designed with modern sophistication in mind, ensuring a superior travel experience.

Enhanced Routes

The refurbished Boeing 777-300ER will start its service to Geneva on August 11th. Following this, it will serve routes to Tokyo Haneda and Brussels from September 1st. These upgrades aim to enhance the travel experience for both business and leisure travelers.

Experience the Upgrade

Passengers eager to experience the upgraded Boeing 777-300ER can now book their tickets. The introduction of these refurbished aircraft is part of Emirates’ plan to upgrade 81 of its Boeing 777 fleet.
