As Ramadan approaches, Emirates is introducing tailored services to support passengers who are observing the holy month. Beginning March 1, 2025, the airline will offer specially designed iftar meal boxes and other amenities to ensure a comfortable journey for fasting travelers.
In-Flight Iftar Meal Boxes

Emirates will provide iftar meal boxes to passengers across all cabin classes on select routes. These boxes, inspired by traditional Islamic art, contain a variety of items to help passengers break their fast. Contents include hummus or moutabel with Arabic bread, sweet treats like almond chocolate, walnut baklawa, apricot balls, and dates. Main course options feature chicken zaatar and mozzarella wraps or lamb shawarma and halloumi wraps, accompanied by laban, a traditional yogurt drink.
Accurate Iftar Timings Onboard
Emirates uses a system that calculates precise iftar timings based on the aircraft’s location and altitude to ensure passengers break their fast at the correct time. The captain announces when it’s time to break the fast, allowing passengers to observe iftar appropriately.
Complimentary Iftar at Boarding Gates
At select boarding gates during iftar times, Emirates offers complimentary iftar boxes. These boxes include water, laban, a banana, and dates, enabling passengers to break their fast before boarding.
Ramadan Offerings in Emirates Lounges
Emirates lounges at Dubai International Airport (DXB) will feature a selection of traditional Arabic sweets, dates, and coffee during Ramadan. First and Business Class lounges will serve dishes such as hot and cold Arabic mezze, lentil soup, mixed grills, lamb mandi, and chicken machboos. Dessert options include pistachio kunafa, halawet al jibn, esh bulbul with lotus, basboussa ashta, and specialty ice creams like Arabic coffee and dates or baklawa flavors.
Support for Umrah Pilgrims
Recognizing the needs of Umrah pilgrims during Ramadan, Emirates will provide Ramadan meal boxes on flights to Jeddah and Medina. Passengers are also allowed to check in one bottle of Zamzam water, up to 5 liters per person, at Dubai International Airport and various airports in Saudi Arabia.
Ramadan Content on In-Flight Entertainment
Emirates’ in-flight entertainment system, ice, will feature special religious content during Ramadan. Passengers can access programs such as “Hadi Al-Nabi,” “Kalimat Fi Hob Al Rasool,” “Kheir Qodwa,” “Maqased Su’ar Al Qur’an,” and “Nafhat” in Arabic. Urdu-speaking passengers can enjoy “Ramadan Ki Fazilat” and “Ramadan Bakhshish Ka Saman.” The Holy Qur’an is also available for passengers to engage with spiritual content during their flight.
Staff Training for Enhanced Service
Emirates provides Ramadan awareness training for its cabin crew and ground staff. This training ensures that all operational teams understand the cultural significance of Ramadan and are prepared to offer the highest levels of service to passengers observing the holy month.
