A Fun-Filled Family Weekend Awaits at Umm Al Emarat Park!

This weekend, families across Abu Dhabi are invited to the Early Childhood Development Fair 2024 at Umm Al Emarat Park. Running from October 31 to November 2, this fair is packed with activities designed to stimulate young minds, offering a fantastic way for parents to enjoy quality time with their children while engaging in educational fun. Under the theme “Curiosity Can Take You Places,” this annual event aims to nurture children’s development and inspire them to explore their world.

What’s Happening at the Early Childhood Development Fair?

The Early Childhood Development Fair, organized by the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority (ECA) and National Academy for Childhood Development (NACD), will offer more than 50 interactive workshops, storytelling sessions, and hands-on activities. The event is free and designed for children up to 8 years old, making it an accessible, educational outing for families. Here are some highlights to look forward to:

Exciting Workshops and Activities

Families can dive into interactive experiences, from creative art workshops to fascinating storytelling sessions. Notable activities include:

  • Grand Prix Workshop: Kids can design and build their race cars, sparking creativity and fine motor skills.
  • Interactive Art: Children can explore their artistic side with hands-on art projects.
  • Storytelling by Warner Bros. Discovery: Immersive storytelling sessions allow children to create and narrate their own stories.
  • Emirati Cultural Experiences: Kids will get to explore local traditions, including pearl diving, Arabic calligraphy, Sadu weaving, and Emirati plants—all of which foster a sense of cultural identity and understanding.

A Hub for Inclusion and Community

The fair emphasizes inclusivity, offering specific activities tailored for children of determination and programs focused on the Arabic language. Sana Mohamed Suhail, ECA’s Director General, highlighted the fair’s role in nurturing children’s growth by uniting families, educators, and specialists. She believes the event is an essential part of investing in young minds, and empowering them for the future.

Dr. Meera Saeed AlKaabi, Chief of the NACD, noted the event’s goal to make Abu Dhabi a center for childhood education. Sessions led by experienced educators provide families with valuable resources on child development and learning.
