Dubai’s ‘Goodness Bus’ Brings Ramadan Joy to Workers

During the holy month of Ramadan, Dubai’s General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), in collaboration with key charitable organizations, has launched the “Goodness Bus” initiative. This thoughtful campaign aims to distribute 150,000 Iftar meals to the city’s labor workforce, reinforcing Dubai’s commitment to social responsibility and community welfare.

Daily Iftar Meals for Workers

The Goodness Bus is set to deliver 5,000 meals daily throughout Ramadan, reaching major labor hubs such as Jebel Ali, Al Quoz, Dubai Investment Park, and Muhaisnah. By providing free meals to blue-collar workers, this initiative recognizes their essential role in Dubai’s rapid development and fosters a sense of unity and gratitude.

Leaders Emphasize Social Responsibility

Major General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, Deputy Director General of GDRFA Dubai and Chairman of the Permanent Committee for Labour Affairs (PCLA), highlighted that Ramadan is a time of giving and compassion. He stated that the Goodness Bus initiative reflects the government’s commitment to supporting workers who contribute to the city’s growth and development.

Similarly, Saleh Zaher Al Mazrouei, Director General of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment, emphasized the importance of collective efforts to strengthen social bonds. He expressed pride in supporting an initiative that appreciates the dedication of the labor force in Dubai.

Dubai’s Tradition of Giving During Ramadan

The Goodness Bus initiative aligns with Dubai’s longstanding efforts to support different segments of society during Ramadan. In previous years, GDRFA Dubai has launched multiple charitable programs, ensuring food security and social inclusion for the less fortunate.

Apart from food distribution, authorities have also introduced gestures to enhance the Ramadan experience for visitors. A special #RamadanInDubai passport stamp welcomes tourists, and free SIM cards are provided to ensure smooth communication during their stay. These efforts showcase Dubai’s hospitality and commitment to making Ramadan a meaningful time for residents and visitors alike.

Encouraging More Community Participation

The Goodness Bus initiative serves as an inspiration for other organizations and individuals to take part in similar acts of kindness. Whether through volunteering, donations, or simple gestures of appreciation, everyone can contribute to building a compassionate and inclusive society.

Dubai’s Goodness Bus is more than just a food distribution program—it is a heartfelt effort to express gratitude to the workforce that helps shape the city. As thousands of meals are distributed daily, the initiative spreads kindness and reinforces the spirit of Ramadan.
