According to the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), schools in Dubai will close on 26 June for summer this year. As per a previous update to the KHDA academic calendar, schools were not to end the school year until June 28. However, KHDA issued a clarification saying its ‘not the case’.
Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) posted on Twitter in response to the publication’s report. “Parents should refer to their school’s approved academic calendar for details on the end of the academic year. Dates for Eid Al Adha holidays will be announced by the federal government.”

Eid Al Adha is expected to fall at the end of June, with dates set for June 28, 29, and 30, subject to official moon sightings. Arafat Day has already been designated as a national holiday on June 27.
Students in the UAE will take an official break for Eid Al Adha, followed by summer vacation in July and August.
The Emirates Astronomical Society recently announced that Eid Al Adha will be observed on Wednesday, June 28. This means, along with students, employees in the private and public sectors will have a six-day holiday for Eid Al Adha at the end of June.
According to Al-Jarwan, the new crescent for the month of Dhu al-Hijjah will appear on Sunday, June 18 at 08:37 AM GST and will be 10 hours and 33 minutes old by sunset that day. And, while you eagerly wait for the summer break, here’s a list of all the public holidays in the UAE.

Hijri New Year: July 21
Hijri New Year marks the beginning of a new lunar Hijri year. This year, it falls on Friday, July 21, which means a three-day weekend is on the cards. It is also known as Islamic New Year.
Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday: September 29
Al-Mawlid Al-Nabawi falls on September 29, which is a Friday. That would mean another three-day long weekend for residents who have off on Saturday and Sunday.
Commemoration Day and UAE National Day: December 2-3
Commemoration Day is usually marked on December 1, which is a Friday in 2023. Immediately after this is the UAE National Day, falling on December 2 and 3. This means it will be a three-day weekend, sealing the final long weekend of the year.
