In the early hours of Sunday, 2 November, the city will be awash with cyclists, as community riders of all kinds gear up for Dubai Ride 2025. The annual free-cycling event invites everyone—from casual riders to families—to hop on their bikes and ride through Dubai’s most iconic streets as part of the broader Dubai Fitness Challenge 2025 (DFC) movement.
It’s a chance to blend fitness with the city’s skyline, to roll through traffic-free roads at dawn, and to be part of something bigger than just a ride.
Choose your route

This year’s Dubai Ride 2025 features two main routes: a 12 km path along the famous Sheikh Zayed Road for more confident riders, and a 4 km flat loop around Downtown Dubai for families and beginners. The longer route clocks in at the early start time of 6:15 am, while the short loop offers a relaxed, scenic ride. The route choice allows the event to cater to a broad community.
For those seeking an extra challenge, there’s also the Speed Laps option. This takes place between 5:00 am and 6:00 am on the same 12 km route, where experienced riders must maintain a minimum average speed of 30 km/h.
How to join and what to bring
Participation is free, but advance registration is required. Riders will need to collect their bib and ensure they have all mandatory gear before the morning of the ride. Here are the essentials:
- Register online ahead of time.
- Collect your bib between 29 October and 1 November at the Zabeel Park “30 × 30 Fitness Village”.
- On your ride day: bring a fully operational bicycle, a helmet, a filled water bottle, and your bib attached.
- Speed Laps entrants must use a road bike; no mountain bikes, e-bikes, or casual bikes allowed.
- Bikes are not allowed on the Dubai Metro for the day, so plan your transport accordingly.
Best experience
Push off into the dawn. You’ll roll past Dubai’s landmark architecture, Burj Khalifa, Museum of the Future, and the Dubai Water Canal. The roads are shut to traffic, giving you a rare, uninterrupted view of the city from the saddle.
For families taking the 4 km route, it’s a friendly, inclusive ride—perfect for younger cyclists or a more relaxed pace. For the 12 km route or the Speed Laps, expect a more focused ride with a higher pace and some climbs (including the Canal Bridge).
The ride kicks off the larger Dubai Fitness Challenge environment, which runs from 1-30 November and encourages residents to commit to 30 minutes of physical activity for 30 days.
By joining Dubai Ride 2025, you become part of a community-driven fitness wave. It’s more than just one morning of riding—it’s the entry point into a full month of movement, energy, and city-wide activity.
There’s no better time to jump on your bike and join the buzz of the city in motion.
